About the Pony Nuts Clubs

Established since 1991

The PONY NUTS CLUB is for PONY-MAD youngsters from ages 6 to 16 years.

The AIM of the club is to give young riders a chance to DEVELOP their RIDING SKILLS beyond their usual riding lesson and to INCREASE their KNOWLEDGE of PONY CARE.

We encourage PROGRESSION, SAFETY and RESPONSIBILITY but we also have LOTS OF FUN!!

ACTIVITIES are FULLY SUPERVISED and are held mainly during SCHOOL HOLIDAYS.

They include: instruction in riding and pony care, competition days, show jump training in small groups, games competitions, two-day rallies and team quizzes.

Fabulous trophies, prizes and rosettes for points, improvement, courtesy, effort and competition champions.

BEST OF ALL - to take part you
DON'T NEED YOUR OWN PONY

We have super, safe, responsive ponies waiting for you - but if you have your own pony, pony nuts is a great preparation for competitions and pony club.

A membership to the pony nuts club costs £15. Members can get discounts on riding lessons and activities.

Anyone can join, there are activities for all standards from complete novice to competition level.

Hunts Farm Stud & Stables and The Pony Nuts Club is run by myself, Joy Dyer, and Paul Delahunt. The riding school has been operating since 1970.

Between us we have a vast experience of all things  equestrian. We have bred and produced our own showjumpers and eventers from our own stallions, 'Lone Star' and 'In a Split Second'. Paul worked with and competed international showjumpers in Canada and top class racehorses in America. I have showjumped to affiliated open level very successfully with homebred horses,’ibedizzy’ and ’Out For The Count’

However, in recent years we have concentrated mainly on teaching and although we have produced many successful competitors at all levels, we mainly teach adults and youngsters who want to ride well but mainly for enjoyment. Our horses have all been chosen for their temperament and suitability. They really are 'well schooled' and all of them jump well and are forgiving if the rider gets it wrong! Most of the horses have competed to a good level.

The ponies have all been with us for a while so they know what they are doing! They are safe, reliable and perform well. We have a good range of horses and ponies who will suit riders who wish to progress to the highest level down to complete beginners.

Although all the lessons on our horses and ponies are group ones everybody gets individual attention and can progress at their own speed. Private lessons on your own horse can be arranged.

All the instruction is given by either Paul or myself.

We work hard to keep our prices at a level to enable our clients to ride every week without breaking the bank! Prices for pony nuts members are £11 an hour. Adults and non members are £15.

We are also available for advice and assistance with any horsey problem.
